FTP error - prepending home/sudoplog directory - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I just defined a new site in Dreamweaver MX. However, when I try to connect to the remote site, I always get an ftp error. I'm trying to place files in var/www/html, however, dreamweaver is pre-pending home/sudoplog/var/www/html. Why is it doing this and how can I fix the problem? I appreciate your help!...

What did you specify as the "host directory" in your Remote Info?

    I entered the following...

    Access: FTP
FTP host: www.hagerbutt.com (i've also tried ftp.hagerbutt.com, but it's never made a difference in the past)
    host directory: var/www/html

    then my login & password

I don't have anything else selected in the remote options.

I had previously had dreamweaver mx installed and everything was working great for this site. I then bought studio mx and reinstalled. I thought I configured the remote site the same, but am having this problem. exact error is:

An FTP error occured - cannot open remote folder var/www/html. 550 /home/sudoplog/var/www/html: No such file or directory.

However, I can FTP to my site and see the var/www/html file with all my *.htm pages. No clue what's up:) Thanks for the help!

Can you try leaving the "host directory" blank? Your account should
automatically connect to the correct folder, or directly into the
    var/www folder.

When I leave it blank, it automatically puts the files in a folder called home/sudoplog (dreamweaver creates the file all on it's own;) No clue why it's doing that.

    Glad it's all sorted out.
