I just wanted to check if Contribute/CPS/Dreamweaver requires that FTP
access to a remote server be handled by IIS? I'm sure it doesn't, but I
wanted to get your input.

On of my authors is creating WebHelp manuals which contain thousands,
literally, of files and each time one is updated we need to remove the
current version of that manual before uploading the new one. Up to now
I've done this manually by using Remote Desktop to that server, but I'd
like to allow this author to connect via FTP and remove the entire
folder (and it's hundreds of sub-folders). The problem is that IIS, our
current FTP server) doesn't allow recursive deletion, meaning that this
author must go to each and every folder and remove it's files manually,
before they can remove the folder itself. You can see how this would be
time consuming.

Are there any recommended FTP servers you guys & gals have used that
allow for recursive deletion? Any FTP servers you'd steer well clear of?

Any related input would be most welcome.

BK.
