FTPs & Networking
Hello,
I have a bit of a problem here, and am really lost.
Let me give the Specs of the system first to help in
identifying the problem.
System 1: P4 1.9 GHZ
512 Meg Ram
340GB HD Space
System 2: P3 800MHZ
756 Meg Ram
80 GB HD space
Current setup/Problem:
System 2 has an FTP software setup on it (Raiden FTPD to
be exact), On this system I have mounted most of System
1's Harddrives on it, for the purpose of giving the FTPD
client Access to these drives (FTP SERVER). Connectivity
is good, and at first appearances there are no problems.
The FTP Server sees the drives with no problems and
people can upload and download off the mounted network
drives.
Now here is the problem. Most files being transferred are
Archive RAR files, about 5% of the time the files that
are being transferred on System 2, to the harddrives on
SYSTEM 1 , are being corrupted. Mostly having files sizes
larger then what they should be. It doesn't matter if the
transfer is incoming or outgoing.
I have tried increase the cache size, purchasing
standalone caching programs. But most of these seem to be
just for Memory caching and wouldn't work in this
situation.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/solutions/product
recommendations?
If you need any addional info let me know.
Your Desperate Windows User,
JasonB
