FW -> DIR button states: up, over, and *down* - Macromedia Fireworks

Im thinking Im missing something here. It seems like this should be easy, but I have yet to figure it out (and have been doing it manually for the past 2-3 versions of Fireworks). Right now Im using Fireworks MX2004 and Director 8.5 When I make a button symbol, when I export for Director, I would LIKE to have a simple button rollover with a down state when it's pressed - not one that stays - NOT a 2-state button. Just a simple roll-over/press swap that restores itself on release/rollout/dragout. Is this not an option? Thanks -se...

Yes. Use the Simple Rollover behavior.

what I asked for was an up, over AND down state. That was the entire point of the post was the down state. I don't think that can be achieved with the simple rollover

No, it can't. Try a four state button that uses the same image as the up
state image for the fourth (over while down) state.

That won't work either since the events handling the image swapping (and which images that are being swapped) won't match up.

But I think I found the answer to my question if that's your solution to it - no, there's no way to export such a button. ... which is sad since 90% of the buttons I use have that behavior.

Can't you just export the button images and import them into your Director
buttons manually? In Authorware, that's the only way we CAN do it.
