FYI: Using Photoshop on an IBM Laptop
I use an IBM T30 laptop with the dual input devices, both the trackpad and the little eraser nub thing. I've found that pressing the spacebar to use the hand tool only works with the trackpad and the associated buttons and does not work with the eraser nub and its buttons. Selecting the tool in the toolbox works fine with either input device. If you have a T30 or better, this will save you the headache of wondering why it doesn't work. I do not know about IBM laptops that only have the eraser nub thing. Happy Photoshopping!

TV on a Laptop?
A USB external tuner. ATI and Hauppage both make them, as well as one or two lesser known models. DaveC wrote: -

Hmmm... T30, nice laptop (real nice). I have the R32 and the Track Point only. That is, no pad. It works fine on my machine, so it must have something to do with the implementation of both pointing devices, and which one "takes priority" in certain situations.

Re: FYI: Using Photoshop on an IBM Laptop
I have the A31p, positioned by IBM as a kind of graphic workstation-like notebook. Amazing thing. Impressive performance too. Many people regard LCD panels as not suitable for photo editing etc. but this 15" 1600 x 1200 screen puts a shame on most CRTs I've seen. Razor sharp, detailed and accruate. Love it. :-)
BTW I use a 3 button scroll point mouse together with the TrackPoint and both work perfect together.

Re: FYI: Using Photoshop on an IBM Laptop
Richard,
Yes, the "A" series is a nice laptop. It's considered the desktop replacement, and ALL of IBM's LCD's are quite nice. They now have some nice digital flatscreen panels that are pretty spanky.
