Default Gaussian Blur in Freehand MX???

Hi guys, can anybody explain me the functionality of the Gaussian Blur effect recently added to the Freehand MX version??

The Gaussian Blur effect it looks very nice in a Freehand Document, but after export a Document with this effect applied to *jpeg, *tiff, *swf, *eps or a previous Freehand version (usually the common formats to export), you will obtain terrible results...

I need to know if this effect only works for direct printing from Freehand or if i need some kind of patch?

I use Macromedia Freehand mx in a Imac DV 400-512MB RAM, with MacOS 9.2.2 and OSX Jaguar.

Yes, terrible. Best way I've found is to use psd export. Also you have to
use high enough raster effect resolution. One of the (many) problems is that
screen and output both use the same value resulting very slow redraw with
higher settings. Another big problem is that on export raster effects and
vector elements do not use the same color management profile.

    We all need a patch.

So far the consensus here seems to be to avoid any of the raster effects
    is going to press.

YES we ALL need a patch, but MM is not cooperating.
