getRendererServices().renderer = #auto - Macromedia Director 3D

hey I have my preferred renderer set to auto....I even set it in code to make sure....and on my computer for example If I do put getRendererServices().rendererDeviceList...it will return [#software, #opengl, #directx5_2, #directx7_0].....but my computer always picks #sotware?? while the app is running I set the renderer to #directx7_0 and it will run at an appropriate frame rate..... so my question is...why does auto not pick the best renderer????...

    I've noticed that a 3D app (exe) will initially use the rendermode that you
    set your browser shockwave version too!!! This maybe your problem? (it's an
    insane thing for an exe to do)

    Try changing an online shockwave3D content setting to auto, or something
    other than software mode and see if this effects your .exe app next time you
    run it.

    Has anyone else noticed this and has it been fixed in MX2004? If so please
    let us know!

    Cheers

    Richard
