Getting ActionScript without buying Flash ... ?
I'd like to learn Flash, and especially ActionScript, with hopes it
will increase my employability. Right now funds are tight and I don't
want to buy the full package not knowing if I'll actually get very far
with it or ever make any money from it.
Anyone know of a limited, learning-only version that perhaps comes in a
CD/book combo or some other format? Thanks.

There are educational discounts that may be applicable if you are a student.
There are several book that include a trial version (but you can just
download the trial version anyway). You could always start off with
SWiSHmax or KoolMoves etc that are much less expensive and has most
actionscripting in them .. and then go to full Flash later on.
