Getting dir text to appear as good as text image
Okay, I'm slightly embarrased that I have to ask this, but hopefully this
question will also help someone else. Up until now, whenever I've created text
with director, the text never looks right from a design point (regardless of
anti-aliasing settings, etc), so I've always just created the text as a
..jpg/.gif image and then imported into the project because I knew it would look
good this way. This is of course a major PIA when changes are needed and I'm
sure there's a much easier way. Is there a way to use director's text tool to
make good image-quality text w/o my method of creating images for everything??
Or is there a specific Xtra that would help with this?? I appreciate any
direction and advice you can give. Thanks...BamaGir

How do I get text to look good!!!
I've tried anti-aliasing and such but it never looks as good as the text from a Word document when printed. What am I missing? -

Re: Getting dir text to appear as good as text image
I would use imported Flash movies to display the text you need. Flash text
looks better and the text can be easily updated because the Flash cast member
could have a function that lets you pass in new text and have it updated
dynamically.

Re: Getting dir text to appear as good as text image
dfarrow, thanks for the reply. I'm interested in the idea you suggest, esp.
since dir text settings aren't getting me anywhere, but won't that
significantly increase my overall .dir file size? I went looking for tech notes
re. your suggestion of importing flash text and found a *somewhat* relative

Are there any tech notes you know of that can give me more information about
this? Or is this basically roundtrip editing text btwn director and flash
Thanks again for your suggestion
