Getting QuickTime image - Macromedia Director Lingo

hi, I am currently working on a director based VJ-App and found that one of the issues might interest you: in order to retrieve image() from the quicktimestream i just placed the qt-cast on a miaw, set this to invisible (window("mywindow").close(), grabbed the miaws images continuously, and transferred it to a imagerect on the main window (the stage) script (very raw): on exitFrame me workingImage = window("qtpr").image.duplicate() workingImage1 = window("qtpr1").image.duplicate() member("hallo").image.copypixels(workingImage, rect(0,0,640,480), rect(160,120,480,360), [#ink: 35]) member("hallo").image.copypixels(workingImage1, rect(0,0,640,480), rect(160,120,480,360), [#ink: 33], [#blendLevel: 30] ) --updatestage go the frame end i know this may sound confusing, but the only way to retrieve ...

    hi,
    I am currently working on a director based VJ-App and found that one of the issues might interest you:
    in order to retrieve image() from the quicktimestream i just placed the qt-cast on a miaw, set this to invisible (window("mywindow").close(), grabbed the miaws images continuously,
    and transferred it to a imagerect on the main window (the stage)

    script (very raw):

    on exitFrame me
    workingImage = window("qtpr").image.duplicate()
    workingImage1 = window("qtpr1").image.duplicate()

    member("hallo").image.copypixels(workingImage, rect(0,0,640,480), rect(160,120,480,360), [#ink: 35])
    member("hallo").image.copypixels(workingImage1, rect(0,0,640,480), rect(160,120,480,360), [#ink: 33], [#blendLevel: 30] )
    --updatestage
    go the frame

    end

    i know this may sound confusing, but the only way to retrieve an image out of a quicktime is to grab a stage content. but the cool thing about it is, that there is no need to have the miaw containing the qt visible, just loaded (and running) is needed.

    one more detail, the direct to stage DTS option may have to be turned
    off to make the cideo image be included with the snapshot.
