Getting Random Queries Out Of A DB
I am trying to randomly query results out of my database. The goal is to
display a random "Bank Rate" each time a page is loaded. There will always be a
random amount of records in the DB to select from so I cant use a random number
generator as there may only be 3 records one day and 6 the next. Any ideas?

Re: Getting Random Queries Out Of A DB
You could generate a random number between 1 and the total number of records
and then display a random record using the QueryColumn format:
<!--- query the database table --->
<cfquery name="queryName" datasource="datasourceName">
SELECT fieldName
FROM tableName
</cfquery>
<!--- seed the random generator --->
<cfset temp = Randomize(Second(Now()))>
<!--- pick a random number between 1 and the total records found --->
<cfset x = Int(Rand() * queryName.RecordCount) + 1>
<!--- display a random value from the recordset --->
<cfoutput>
#queryName['fieldName'][x]#
<cfoutput>
