    Default GetUrl Error in Director 8

    Hi all,

    Platform: windows XP
    Apps: Flash MX & Director 8

    I am trying to make my flash flie, which is an intro animation in the Director timeline, once finished auotmatically jump to a marker in Director. I have used the getUrl function (getURL("lingo: go next");
    In Director I have simply added a go to the frame script to stop it from moving till it retches the end. As soon as the animation ends it gives me a Fatal error and says it has to quit Director. (I have saved this as a Flash 4 file as Director does not read anything above this)

    Please help as this is an emergency. I am meeting my client tomorrow morning 8:30

    Thanks in advance to all those helpers out there!

    Hi Ross,

    In Flash, to include a quotation mark in a string, it needs to be preceeded
    with a backslash character (\). Since your marker name is a string, its
    quotation marks should be preceded by a backslash character.
    ex. getURL("lingo: go \"next\"");

    Hope this helps.
