Default Given correct SFTP login information, Contribute tellsme it's wrong

I'm attempting to set up a new SFTP connection. When I give my login
information, it pops up an error "Your Secure FTP (SFTP) username or password
is incorrect. Please check your connection information."

    Here's what I do know:
    - The connection information is correct.
    - I can log on to the server via SFTP using WinSCP
    - Yes, it's an SFTP server
    - The server is using SSH 2

    Does anyone have any insight?

    Hi,

Could you please check if the server is up always? There may be cases where
the server may toggle which may cause problems. Have you configured the user in
the SSH. Please check if the SSH service is running

Please restart the server and try again.

    Thanks

Had the same issue, and quite by accident discovered how to get around it.
Start over from the beginning, and when the dialog box comes up asking for the
path to the server, DO NOT click on 'Browse'. Instead type in the path
manually. Then click 'Next'. For some reason, Contribute seems to get lost
when 'Browse' is used but is able to proceed using the manual insertion. If
you've tried to use 'Browse' multiple times, completely close Contribute and
start over. Once you've clicked on Browse, even the manual method doesn't
work. You must use it prior to clicking the 'Browse' button. You may have to
play around a bit with whether or not to put a slash in front of the path, but
    this does work.

Another problem could be you entered the ftp information prior to this attempt
and it worked. then maybe say the FTP information changed, the user name or
    the password.

Well now your out of luck, because Contribute saves the UN/PW (encrypted) in
your Windows/linux/mac registry. Regardless of what you enter in the future,
it won't matter because it will just keep using the RegKey value. (totally
    awesome)

I think this was an attempt to make people use contribute per person instead
of multiple people using it on the same computer -- but I'm not sure.

Now, if you want to read more first and foremost understand this:
I'm not responsible for you ruining your Registry if you screw something up --
it's your fault. So you can simply just read my above section and understand
your kind of screwed. Read on if you totally understand what i'm about to say
is in no way authorized by Contribute/Adobe/etc.

Your in luck tho, you can delete this by going to regedit (windows)
    search for Keychain.

-- MAKE SURE ITS THE KEYCHAIN FOR CONTRIBUTE.
    Prob in:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/Contribute 4.1/keychain

Inside this Key you will see lots of DWORD values for the different sites.
The Data values for these keys are your encrypted Passwords and Usernames. --
the things that Contribute decides to use REGUARDLESS of whatever you enter
into the sftp un/pw when the box pops up.

Simply delete the Keys (which in turn deletes the data) -- then reopen
Contribute and re-enter in the values.

I tried this, as I am having the same problem. When I went in to RegEdit, I didn't see any of the DWORD values. I guess I'm just screwed? My web host is officially ignoring me because he probably thinks I can't spell or something. I've double and triple checked the un/pw.
    Any other ideas?
