Global village pb 1400
Beste mensen,
ethernet is weer geselecteerd in appletalk. Maar ik zie niets in de
kiezer....
Wie weet iets?
En wie wil zo vriendelijk zij om in de extensiemap van zijn pb(1400) te
kijken welke extensies zich daar bevinden, en welke versie?
dank, rolf

Ethernet" (that is what my CommuniCard Ethernet card shows up as in the
AppleTalk control panel). Then your system is recognizing the card. If
you are not seeing anything in the Chooser (assuming that there is
something to see) it could be that AppleTalk is disabled, or that there
is a problem with the connection to the network.
In the AppleTalk control panel, set the user mode ("Edit" menu, select
"User mode") to advanced. Once you do that, two new buttons will appear
in the AppleTalk control panel window. Click the options button. Make
certain that the Active button is selected.
Good luck,
Chris

something trivial. I had a 1400 with GV Platinum card and the presence
of right drivers was manifested by the ability to select "Ethernet" in
the Apple Talk control panel. You can do that, so I think you have all
the right extensions. Maybe you are using a regular ethernet cable to
connect a computer to a computer (and it should be a crossover one)? Or
it's something as trivial as this?

specific models - where you have to start both computers
simultaneously if using a crossover (no hub). Otherwise the MAC on
whichever end started first will time out waiting for a heartbeat
(link) and will disable itself. Using a hub is preferable.
