Gnome 2.0 Desktop (Solaris 8) - Sun Solaris

Hello! I am having trouble with running Gnome session on Solaris 8 (Sun Ultra 10). The login window gets cycled: you choose gnome session, enter user name and passwd, then there is some activity (black screen, white screen) and then again login window is displayed :( All req. patches are installed and I read some sun.solve and sun.gnome pages about this issue, but either I have missed something either this is not described yet. Hello!
I am having trouble with running Gnome session on Solaris 8 (Sun Ultra 10).
The login window gets cycled: you choose gnome session, enter user name and
passwd, then there is some activity (black screen, white screen) and then
again login window is displayed :(
All req. patches are installed and I read some sun.solve and sun.gnome pages
about this issue, but either I have missed something either this is not
described yet. Well, does anybody know, where to find this problem's
    solution description?

Here are the last 5 lines from /.dt/startlog file (motd message excluded):

    ---starting desktop on /dev/pts4
    ***here comes motd***
    You have new mail

I can reproduce this by exec'ing a ksh at the bottom of my /.profile
    and the logfile matches yours.

    Beary,
can you give me more details.
I had a look at my /.profile and /.kshrc, but I can not determine what could

While toying with GNOME on an U10, I recall that this occured if
I hadn't configured true colour for the X server as per
    http://www.sunhelp.org/faq/FrameBuffer.html#1a .
    Might be worth a shot.
