Good Audio Ripper? wmp-plugin for firefox? - Ubuntu

Hello everyone, Yup, these are two questions. Can't get enough of them... But first of all, I'm not too experienced in Ubuntu (I finally took the chance to migrate with the release Dapper Drake). So I got the most things I need together now, and I'm pleased to say that not only a few programs are better than their Windows-pendants. But I'm still missing two things, I'd be glad If anyone could help me: 1) I used to use Exact Audio Copy (EAC) on Windows to rip CDs. Now I'm looking for a program that's as powerful as EAC. It ...

Default Good Audio Ripper? wmp-plugin for firefox?

    Hello everyone,

Yup, these are two questions. Can't get enough of them... But first of
all, I'm not too experienced in Ubuntu (I finally took the chance to
migrate with the release Dapper Drake). So I got the most things I need
together now, and I'm pleased to say that not only a few programs are
better than their Windows-pendants. But I'm still missing two things,
I'd be glad If anyone could help me:

    1) I used to use Exact Audio Copy (EAC) on Windows to rip CDs. Now I'm
looking for a program that's as powerful as EAC. It should a least
support mp3 (adjustable VBR) and OGG Vorbis. But you audio cracks
probably know what's good, so just give me your choice.

    2) Well, that's a bit whimpy maybe: Many websites integrate videos over
the Windows Media Player Plugin. Now I cannot view those videos anymore.
Is there a Linux plugin that solves this problem?

    Thank you for your time,
    Keno

I use sound-juicer. It take's a bit of googling to set up mp3-encoding
though. It uses cdparanoia for ripping (the EAC for linux ;-) )

Look for mplayer-plugin and perhaps w32codecs.
