Default good navigation

I have always built a simple navigation into my websites with buttons or
text. However for my current project I am looking to try something
different. I want to produce a drop down menu as used so well by
www.mtv.com. Can anyone suggest an extension, a piece of software or even a
help page on how to build such a navigation. I need the ability to have
strong control over the colour and font scheme. This can also be seen at
www.sigames.com

Cheers

Chris
