Default Goodbye sold.com.au

Thought those of you that frequent the likes of eBay, Sold and Tradingpost
might like to know that there is soon to be one less online auction site (I
know of one person that'll be happy at least)

---------------
http://au.docs.yahoo.com/docs/sold/annoucements.html

SOLD.com.au Announcement

On August 20th, SOLD.com.au will be closing its auction service. Until then,
all current auctions will continue to run until their natural close.

We would like to thank you for using SOLD.com.au and we hope you have
enjoyed the experience.
We recommend that in the future, our customers try out the great service
offered by eBay, our preferred auction service.
---------------

Used to be a good auction site ... back before "Yahoo!" bought it. IMO it
has been in a state of decline ever since. Lately just too many trader ads
with retail reserves and too many pawnbrokers with unrealistic reserves
relisting the same shite week after week for 6 months.

Oh well. RIP sold.com.au, may all your pixels be recycled and go onto
bigger and better things.

KC

The only reason it was setup was so that it could be sold - it was nothing
more than a marketing ploy.

yeah, and if you read the small print - it says that you gotta be on the
seller's pre-approved bidder/buyer list...
