Graphic Organizers
As a language arts teacher and sometime creative writer, I like to make graphic organizers to help brainstorm and sort information. Which program is best for designing dynamic graphic organizers: InDesign 2.0, Pagemaker 7.0, Framemaker 7.1 or InDesign CS Pagemaker Plug-In Edition? Are there any problems with InDesign CS Pagemaker Plug-In Edition and does it include many of the templates found in Pagemaker?
Thank you

Can you translate your jargon? What is a dynamic graphic organizer?

Re: Graphic Organizers
A graphic organizer is a picture made up of connected boxes or circles (chart, map, web, etc) that helps you organize your thoughts on a topic. I hope that helps. And by dynamic I mean something that simply looks fantastic, something worth publishing. Here's a link to some examples:

Re: Graphic Organizers
If all you're doing is basically making a line and block chart with
pictures, I'd use Illustrator. You can also use ID but if you also have
Illustrator I'd say it's better for what you want to do.

Re: Graphic Organizers
I'd second Rick. What you're really doing is creating an illustration so you need illustration software like Illustrator (my favorite) or CorelDraw.

Re: Graphic Organizers
Devil's advocate here.
Sounds to me like T Amos should be looking at something like Powerpoint. Applications such as ID, Illustrator, and Corel are probably overkill — and are probably more difficult to do this kind of thing in. Use graphic programs only if you need high-end output capability or if you need the extra artistic and typographic control.

Re: Graphic Organizers
Looks like a couple of the examples in the link are, in fact, PowerPoint,
some might be Visio. The one with a crayon is cool, too. :-) I'll agree with
Mike, a lot of this is far easier in Ppt, a couple clicks does all of this
except for the most complex charts.
