Graphic Styles...
Im trying to apply a graphic style to a box - Style Library "Textures"/RGB Brick (Im drawing a building), but it doesnt work/show up when I apply to the box because my document color mode is CMYK and I have to stay in CMYK. Double clicked on the style in the appearance palette and I get the following error: "Could not filter the image because the plug-in does not support images in this color space." Is there a workaround to be able to use this graphic style or somewhere I can find some CMYK style libraries that have a texture that would simulate brick or something similar to a building texture.
Or can i convert the texture to CMYK somehow? Tried opening a new document in RGB, drawing a box, applying the graphic style and changing the document mode to CMYK and it disappears...
any ideas?

Re: Graphic Styles...
Tricia,
the Style uses a Photoshop filter (texturizer) which is RGB specific and obviously won't be working in CMYK mode.
I've tried to convert the document from RGB to CMYK and back again, and from what I see the effect just isn't displayed when in CMYK mode, it isn't removed from the appearance stack. What I would do is to convert the document to RGB, set the effect to the parameters you need, then convert it back to CMYK and continue editing it. When the design is ready, I'd convert it to RGB, expand the appearances of the "Bricked" objects and convert it back to CMYK (I don't know if it can affect another objects, though, so maybe someone else could jump in and explain...)
In any case: if you plan to have the final design in CMYK mode - you'll have to expand appearances for all of the RGB specific effects.
I'm not an expert in RGB filters, though, maybe someone else could have a better idea.
Cheers ;)

Re: Graphic Styles...
Whenever I create an illustration in Illustrator, I create in RGB with filters. Then I export the whole illustration to a PSD file CMYK and place that into my document. I find it's better in the long run as it avoids print problems where some printers can't handle special effects, even if they are printed to Acrobat.
I know this isn't the answer you would prefer, but I find it works well. ALWAYS, always keep a copy of the original file so you can edit it at any time before exporting again.
