You might need the Java run-time? (Just a guess: I've never
    installed Oracle.)

    Exactly how are you installing?
Is your desktop system running an X server?
Or are you trying to configure your Solaris server to run Xsun?

    Do you have these installed?

6.2) Which packages do I need to install to support a C compiler?
You don't need a compiler to run Oracle server, but you do need
    a ld and friends.

    Guys,

Thanks for the replies but I cracked it. I needed just one package: SUNWmfrun.

I hate those freakin' gui based installs. To Oracle... give us a *&&^^*# pkg.
This is server world, NO graphics! If would have wanted to use my mouse I would
    have gotten my MCSE

    Later.
