Have to right-click and choose 'Run As' for all apps
I recently installed Trend Micro Office Scan on my PC at
work and found out my computer was infected with tree
viruses. I do not have the virus names here but I finally
cleaned out the files that were infected including
regsvr.exe in the C:\windows\system32 folder. I followed
the procedures for manually cleaning out the virus since
the antivirus could not clean the files.
Here's the problem: I cant run any executable file. I get
the error message above. E.g. If I click on internet
explorer, I get the message Cannot find the
file 'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe'.
Please make sure the specified file exists....
When I right-click the file and select 'Run As', then
pick my own login name, the program executes fine.
What could be the problem here? And how can I resolve it.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
