I save a Iluustrator doc. in the swf. format, and now I cannot open my Illustrator file. I got an error mess. that say that "marcos3.ai is in an unkown format and cannot be opened."
How can not be open if is a Illustrator file?
I got another version in html. and swf. I save both in pdf. format, I tried to copy/paste to Illus. but it doesn't work. All I got is a blank page.
I'm ready to cry here. I did a lot of work.
Please I need help here.
Help me please.
Thanks a lot.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
I'm crying. ( Sometimes I wonder how can I still be alive being soooo stupid)
Any way, I saved my document "AS" an swf. format, then I saved my original doc. When I saved my original doc. I got a warning that say "The original file is been change outside of Illustrator, you still want to save" I though that if I "save as" how can I re-write my original? I don't have Flash, so "outside of Illustrator ?" I though that it was just something about the program itself (Illustrator) I don't know what I did wrong.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Uly7
I'm crying, so stupid, it was a piece of art, it was really, so stupid...

Yep, it's me again.
Where or how can I find the "preference file" in Illustrator CS?

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
This is where I want ot go, but don't know how I can get ther.
1) Open the preferences file and look for the entry named
"enableContentRecovery", change the value from 0 to 1. This turns on the
feature.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
Dan,
The file is called AIPrefs, and it is found in the Illustrator folder; you may search for the file name on the C drive and open it in WordPad.
It may take some time to find the string you need, and probably it will be near the bottom, but things may move round; in my present version (I use AI10) the surrounding context looks like this, about 10% before the end:
}
/tilingMethod 2
/showPlacedImages 0
/doSplitPath 0
/printerResolution 1200.0
/aiFileFormat {
/documentPSLevel 3
/SavingSpotTransparencyWarning 0
/enableContentRecovery 0
/PDFCompatibility 1
/clipboardPSLevel 3
}
/xml {
/UID {
/autoBaseName (XMLID)
}
}
/colorModel 2
/warning {
Good luck.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
Dan,
I have only "heart-felt" words to share--- (sorry nothing intelligent to say.) But, I just wanted you to know that there are other people empathizing with your pain.
I'm sure almost everybody has experienced a "whoa, WTF" moment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
Dan,
Sorry: I forgot to mention that the AIPrefs is hidden, so when you search for it you must tick More advanced options and then Search hidden files and folders (keep that one on).

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
....as a palliative, you could try placing the file (File>Place) in to a new blank document. Sometimes it helps. If you cannot see the file in the Place dialog window, type *.* in the File Name box and hit Enter.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
Hola
Thanks a lot for all your help.
I've tried everything but it didn't work.
The good thing is that I'm not crying anymore.
Maybe this is a good thing, I have to practice more anyway, and this will force me to do it.
Next time I've be more careful.
Thanks again to all of you.
Love and peace to all.

Re: !!!HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!
Did you try placeing it, or export? not open. You go to file then to place, or try export.
