Help FAST Please!! Embed fonts in PDF-X (v1.2)
A magazine that I am creating an ad for requires all fonts be embedded
and specifically states: "DO NOT SUBSET". I can't figure out how to do
that when exporting from IDCS. I have opened Distiller and created a
"PDF-X no subset" setting. Now I want to have that setting available
through IDCS but I don't know where Distiller saves those settings. I
am hoping to "load" that new setting to the PDF Export Presets, but
since I can't find that setting outside of Distiller I have no idea
where it is. Is this the right way to fully embed all fonts without subset?
Please help, I'm on a deadline.

Re: Help FAST Please!! Embed fonts in PDF-X (v1.2)
Distiller's setting work in Distiller only. You will have to do the same thing in InDesign's Export settings. In InDesign CS 2, go to File > PDF Export Settings... Choose "Define". Click on the Setting you want to adjust and click the "New..." button. In the Advanced tab, where it says "Subset fonts... ...100%" set the 100% field to 0% and save the new preset with a unique name. I think this might do the trick. If you don't have InDesign CS 2, you can probably do something similar in the Export settings dialog of older versions of InDesign.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much, I never understood the meaning of the % of characters
used. I tried it and it seemed to work just fine. Thanks again.
