HELP: Fireworks can not run. The resource files are missing or damaged
I get this message whenever I try and run Fireworks MX. Dreamweaver MX and the rest of Studio MX runs just fine, except for fireworks. I have no clue what could be wrong. I totally uninstalled and reinstalled ALL of Studio MX and still get the same bloody error. I can only think that when I was updating windows once, a crucial .dll file was updated, therefore it's memory address changed, and now Fireworks MX thinks that that file no longer exists. I hope I'm wrong, b/c with windows' chaotic and "oh lets place this thingy here" system file architecture, I'll never find the file.
Can anyone help me out here? I don't just use Fireworks in conjunction with DW MX and the rest of Studio MX, but also to make digital photo's web friendly among other things, and I'd like to be able to use it again instead of having to use MS Paint.

Re: Fireworks can not run. The resource files are missing or damaged
Hi,
The problem is similar, but not the problem I have. See, it installed correctly, but whenever I try and run Fireworks MX, it says that the resources are missing or damaged.

I just did what that help document said to do, and it works! Don't know WHY since it wasn't about installation, but it works now! Thanks for the help! :)

Can you give us some specifics on what OS you are running there? I suspect that when you are installing, some junk files in your Temp directory could be causing problems with the creation of the necessary files on your system. Also you should be aware that you need to install the software as Administrator and it's good to launch the software one time under Adiministrator privileges before you reboot to other user profiles. The error message you are seeing is not bogus, so another thing to look at is the splash screen that appears when you launch. Watch carefully to see if you can catch the last initialization message that appears before the error occurs. This will tell us which resource is not being accessed.
