Help for a novice, Please! - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi Everyone! I have an issue that I cannot seem to find a solution for: I have one table that holds information about parts installations. The parts have a serial number which is alphanumeric. I have another table which has descriptions about the particular part, indexed by this same alphanumeric identifier. The problem is that I cannot seem to get the two tables to join properly. Here's what I'm tryying to do: SELECT * FROM tableA, tableB WHERE tableA.code = tableB.code The codes are identical, but I always get 0 results. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch! -Andrew...

Are tableA.code and tableB.code of the same data type?
