Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
All the posts in this forum regarding missing watched folders seem to suggest that this is something that only happens if you have Acrobat Standard. I have Professional which is included in my Adobe CS2 Premium upgrade, I've looked through the forums and not seen anything about Acrobat Professional missing watched folders, but that is my situation. When I initially installed my Adobe CS Premium I setup Distiller to use watched folders on my computer. Today when I launched the program it said it couldn't find them. I went to the menu and pulled up Watched folders, all my folder names had been replaced with various random characters and the folders had x's through them. I tried to click on one of the folders to delete it so that I could reset it and Distiller crashed. When I re started Distiller the menu item for setting up watched folders was gone. I trashed my local distiller.plist file but still no luck. Any ideas what is going on here?

Re: Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
The Acrobat Standard problem is that Acrobat Standard doesn't have
watched folders at all. You don't lose them, because you can't set
them up in the first place.
Your problem does sound familiar, however. It can happen if you watch
folders on a server. Watch only folders on your local disk and it
should be fine. Or else you've found a new problem.

Re: Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
I think it's a new problem. The watched folders I had set up were on my local machine, not the server.

Re: Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
I don't have any odd characters in the file names of my watched folders and while I can create new job options instead of recycling my old ones, that doesn't help me much if I can't get to the watched folders option to attach them to. What I need to know is how can I get my watched folders back?

Re: Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
It's probably worth using the Uninstall utility in the Acrobat 7 Professional folder and then reinstalling again.

You can also try to delete your Distiller preference file.

Re: Help! Have Professional - Missing Watched Folders
Deleting and reinstalling the entire program 2 times. Actually worked. After reinstalling it the first time I received a message about a component not being installed and had to reinstall a second time. This time I created a totally new folder for the watched folders to reside in and I did all my job options from scratch. I'll see how this works.
Thanks Steve for the reinstall suggestion and thanks to all who offered advice. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.
