Help!! Inconsistent problems with exporting to pdf

I'm new to CS and I've posted several messages about files not exporting to pdf-thanks to everyone who has offered help. I'm working with indesign to build pages and using photoshop and illustrator for misc. elements. One page exported fine until I decided to add a feather effect to a few photos that were overlapping each other-then it wouldn't export so I changed it back. Another page wouldn't export because one particular photo was overlapped by a headline so I changed the layout. Another file had two graphic images where just the boxes that hold them were touching and wouldn't export until I moved them away from each other enough so that they weren't touching. One layout that I do not want to change will not export due to a headline that is overlapping both a photo and a graphic. I changed this headline to an eps file and it exported but I had to do a clipping mask on it to get rid of the white background and then it, once again, wouldn't export. I'm desperate at this point with many more pages to do and nervous about getting it to the printer. Thank you. Audrey

Define "wouldn't export". In other words, tell us exactly what you did,
and exactly what happened.

After I get my page layout complete I choose file, pdf export presets, press and follow through with that-on most of my files the pdf exports but on the ones I described above I get a message that says that it wouldn't export. Thanks. Audrey

What happens if you choose the "Screen" preset instead of "Press"?

I got two warnings about transparency and color, then the same message that the file failed to export.

Warning #1: Pages with transparency will not include hyperlinks, bookmarks, movies, sounds, button items, or eBook tags. If your pages require these features, click cancel, and then select the Acrobat 5.0 export option.

Warning #2: Use of an output color space which differs from the transparency blending color space may cause color shifts in the resulting PDF.

After reading these I decided to try taking the feather effect off of the photos to see if it would export and it did (but the feather effect was requested by my client...) I appreciate your patience, if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank you. Audrey

Those warnings are there for a reason. Why not just correct the problem?

1. Flattening will kill the hyperlinks, because in many cases is
rasterizes the text. Exporting as Acrobat 5 PDF doesn't flatten file.

2. You're obviously mixing RGB and CMYK and/or simply using the wrong
transparency blend space.
