Default Help: InDesign File size remains the same after deleting pages

    Hi,
With InDesign cs Windows I have created a document that is approx 200 pages
long and I have embedded a large number of graphics into it. If I make a
copy of the entire document and subsequently delete pages the file size
stays the same. If I do a "preflight" on the new document it lists no
graphics and only 10 pages yet the files size is about 150 megabytes. What
is going on here and how do I reduce the file size to reflect the new
version and not what was included in the previous complete document?
    Thanks

Try deleting your pages *before* using the Save As... command to make
a copy of the document. Save As is the best way I know to reduce file
size, but it has to be done after all major changes are made.

    Hi Craig,
This actually worked, but it's important to "save as" over the open file
using the same file name. Very strange that unless one does that the file
size does not decrease even though many elements have been removed.
    Thanks,
    Mark
