help please. simple question about tables. - Dreamweaver AppDev

You can view my page at: http://www.ironies.com/indexold.htm . So, I created the horizontal lines on the page using 'insert horizontal rule" and it created tons of white space around the line. My cell heights and cell padding is set to zero, my horizontal rule height is set to 1 pixel. Any ideas? I can't figure this out. I don't see any breaking spaces or anything. Please help!...

    You'll need to use either an image to collapse the TD height or use CSS to
    create the line with a border style. A horizontal rule occupies the same
    height as a non breaking space, around 19 pixels tall.

    Thank you so much for your reply to my question. So far every attempt to fix
    this in my style sheet has been unsuccessful. I am now trying to use a 1 x 1
    image spacer with the row background set to black to try to make the horizontal
    line. The problem now is that I cannot get my table row here to collapse small
    enough. My cell height, margin, and paddings are set to 0. Any ideas?? I
    truly appreciate the advice. I have been trying to solve this for days.
    Thanks!!!!

    Look at your code. Check for &nbsp; in any of your cells; check for a <p>
    tag in any of your cells.
    I think it'd be easier just to insert a horizontal rule, then add this CSS
    style to your page:
    hr {
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }
