HELP PLEASE: Translation in RUSSIAN of our website
Hello,
we are trying to translate our company website in russian, but the software
DREAMWEAVER doesn't recognize the russian characters.
Is there any manipulation to do in order to have the recognition of these
characters?
An example: "???????? ???????". When I try to insert such characters, I have a
succession of "???????????????". Is there any explanation of such a response?
Thanks in advance for your precious help.

Re: HELP PLEASE: Translation in RUSSIAN of our website
I had this setup on my home PC for a friend, and I know you at least have
to:
1. Change the character set of the HTML/whatever page
2. Change the character set of your system and keyboard
Windows XP Pro (not sure about the others) provided a way to use hotkeys to
switch character sets on the keyboard on the fly.

Modify > Page Properties > Title/Encoding > Encoding
I'd also ask this question in the DW general group as there are more folks that are likely to have run into an issue such as this, and because this one is specifically focused on DW extensions.

Re: HELP PLEASE: Translation in RUSSIAN of our website
it looks you have unicode and not-unicode conversion problem
to understand better what i mean please visit and read
http://russiantext.ircdb.org
http://RusWin.net
or some other site
bye the way you may type cyrillic text at Delo editor
http://www.russiantext.ircdb.org/ruseditE.htm, copy and paste it to
DREAMWEAVER
sometime it resolves unicode/not-unicode problems on-fly
you may user HTML Unicode Cyrillic text presentation at your site
for example Cyrillic word "privet" in HTML tags will be presented as
<font color="#000000" size="2">
привет
</font>
The most browsers will accept this and results are excellent
For conversion:
1. down load DELO editor
http://www.russiantext.ircdb.org/ruseditE.htm
2. type any Cyrillic text (editor works at NT/2000/XP, no Cyrillic font
setup or Cyrillic driver is required)
3. Select all or part of Cyrillic text
4. go to Format->Code convertion->Symbols to HTML Decimal Menu item
5. click and Cyrillic "privet" text will be converted to
привет
Bye
