Help request: Diskwarrior 3 - Mac Applications & Software

I am unable to get the Diskwarrior 3 CD to boot my Powerbook G4 867 mhz, which is OS-9 bootable, and has both 9 and X installed. When I start from the CD, I just get a kernal panic..."You need to restart your computer" in many languages, although there is still the spinning grey wheel below it, as in a normal startup. I haven't been able to find any information regarding DW's inability to start any systems other than the G5s and the new (Sept 03) Powerbooks. What gives? Anyone out there have a similar experience and/or suggestions?...

FWIW, version 3 of DW seems to be "flaky" on a minority of Mac
computers, although that is denied by a vocal majority of users.

On my Mac Pismo powerbook, the symptoms are a freeze, even when I boot
    from the DW CD.

My workaround was to revert to booting from my OS9 partition, and use
the older version 2.1.1 which has never given me any problems, other
    than being slow as molasses.

Hopefully some future version of DW will incorporate a "fix" to
    eliminate this problem.

This is disappointing. I grilled them about various
reported problems and one of them said there were no bugs
in the latest version of DW 3. But perhaps the
person to whom I spoke didn't know about the bugs,
or maybe it's actually one bug they admit - one may
need to unplug all external hardware before running DW.

So I reckon it's necessary to encourage them to
acknowledge the bugs. Perhaps they could do like Arnold and
publicly apologise, saying "Where there's smoke, there's
    usually fire."
