    Default Help: Sparc20 video card

    Hi,

I have 2 video cards installed on Sparc20/Solaris7.
Default output-device is set to add-on card

How can I switch to the onboard video card, use as default.

After removed bad card, I have done follow commands but
    don't work.

    touch /reconfigure ; reboot
    or reboot -- -r

    Thanks
    Tam

To use the onboard video card, you need to install a VSIMM. I don't know
the details, but I think this is specific for the SS20.

    Hi Tam,
I have a sparc 20 myself, but I have never had any issue like that. I
mean, my machine has both onboard video as well as an s-bus v.card. I
believe it should work, no matter which card u connect your monitor
to. And I did not hear anything like, only one card works at a time,
and that you need to disable the other card. Try connect some other
    monitor if u feel like.

    Three points:

The onboard video of the SS20 requires a VSIMM to do anything.

The OpenBoot PROM can be configured for the boot-time messages to
appear on either of the two video outputs. There is a hardware
preference set by Sbus address, but this can be changed by explicit
    programming of the PROM.

The Solaris DeskTop GUI can be configured for the login panel to
appear on your choice of the video outputs. It can also be configured
to use both video outputs simultaneously, but this is not the default
    configuration.
