    Default Help With Connection Keys

I'm new to contribute. I've just downloaded and am half way through a cbt
    module to u/stand its useage.

Few questions I hope you can answer:

I want to create a SportsLeague site where the members can update scores and
their numbers. I was told I could use contribute to enable the users to
    update/edit their fields/scores.

Can I give them a connection key for basic editing? And, with the connection
key, can they go ahead and update without having to own contribute?

Also, can I get away with building a site with contribute and uploading to the
hosting account and domain without having to use dreamweaver or any other type
    of content html editor?

    Thanks!!!

Default Re: Help With Connection Keys

The connection key is used to determine what the user (web page editor) can do
to the web page. For instance, if you don't want them to be able to change the
font, then you can prevent them from doing that. Or if you only want to give
them access to a particular folder on your website, then you can do that with a
connection key. The user will need to own Contribute in order for them to
    update the page using Contribute.

You can build a site with Contribute and without using DreamWeaver, but it
depends on what you want your site to do. Contribute is not designed to do
form processing so you would need a different mechanism for that, but if your
site only has static web pages then it may be the only tool you need.

    I hope that helps.
