help with "connection timed out" error
has anyone seen an error pop up while inspiron 8200 laptop
connected to a LAN
APP_BK_048
connection timed out (error #10060)
no software/hardware has been installed - computer runs
fine- nothing on the system has been changed - any ideas
please???

We would need to know which app pops the error. Doesn't look like windows.

thank you for such a quick response - the problem is, I'm
not sure which app pops the error. all programs
including outlook is closed....the only time the error
pops up is when the network cable is plugged in. there
was the sobig.e virus on the computer - which was
removed by using norton antivirus. I don't know if this
would cause the problem...any help or ideas would be
greatly appreciated. I'm getting desperate enough to
just reformat & reload winxp.

This is a result of the SoBig virus. Follow the link below to for the
removal tool.

There also is file named cgtask.exe. Search the registry for the key
and delete it and delete the file from the hard drive.
