HELP with Fireworks popup menu - Macromedia Fireworks

Someone help ... Please! I've created a popup menu in Fireworks that's quite extensive. I'm placing the menu in Dreamweaver via the Insert > Image Objects > Fireworks HTML. It works fine, but the resulting code is ballooning the size of the Web page to an unacceptable level. I've searched various sources for a way to pare down the Fireworks-created code or find a way to cut this Fireworks-created code and place it in a separate, external javascript file. Nothing seems to work. I'm fairly new to Fireworks, so while I'm sure there's an easy workaround, the solution escapes me! ...

Default HELP with Fireworks popup menu

Anyone out there know of a way to pare down the code of a Fireworks-generated popup menu?

    Thanks!

    Wood:

I know a great way. Get rid of them.

There are equally good ways to do menus that use 10% as much code, and don't
break when you move or rename a linked file like these do. Further, your
site will be spidered unlike the links in your FW menus....

Thanks for the advice ... I'm quickly learning that despite the ease of Fireworks' popup menus, anything more than a handful of "links" results in wickedly bloated code. I was desperately hoping my issues with the code were owed to my inexperience with the software ...
