Default Help with Save to Web

I have been having this problem for quite a while and it may go across Adobe applications.

I am continually getting the error message "Could not complete this operation because an insertion has failed" when I try to Save For Web in Photoshop 7.01.

    (1) I have reset and/or deleted preferences for both Photoshop and ImageReady as per several suggestions on the user-to-user forums. This did nothing.

    2) I have done clean re-installs of Photoshop as directed by topic documents from Adobe, including deleting folders and lines in my computer's registry. Again, this did nothing.

    3) I am also having problems with graphics becoming corrupted after I've used Photoshop. I have had Photoshop crash when trying to open a previously worked on graphic. I have also had GoLive crash when trying to open the same graphic. I can move the graphic from its folder, put it on the desktop, and have no problem opening it. I have even created new folders transfered the graphic into it, it will open for a while, then suddenly crash.

I am running Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 1. I have also upgraded to Direct X 9.

Any help with these inconviences would be greatly appreciated.

    Two thoughts:
    1. Try turning off any applications running in background that you can (with
    ctrl-alt-delete).
    2. If you've had this problem from the beginning and turning off apps
doesn't work, perhaps you have a corrupted CD - should be able to get
another one from Adobe for free ( or minimal cost).
