    Default Help with Sherlock

Running OS 10.2.6 on iMac. Had a power loss yesterday, but everything
seems to be working fine after re-start.

This a.m. tried to open Sherlock and got the message:

    Application has unexpectdly quit

    Crash log read:

    Command: Unknown

    PID: 463

    Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x001)

    Codes: KERN-INVALID-ADDRESS (ox0001) at (0x0247018f)

    Backtrace not available

I trashed the prefs in my users library and re-started with same
    messages.

Used Disk Warrior to no avail.

Tried to find a download of Sherlock 3 in the Apple web site to no avail.

Can anyone help with this. If possible could someone send me a copy of
Sherlock 3 as an E Mail attachment? net.

    Thank you

Did you use the OS X Disk Utility to repair permissions?

amazingly, (using OS 10.2.6) when I try to fire up OS X Disk Utility I
get a message that it will not run in classic mode. I am booted in both
10.2.6 and 9.2.2, but I try to boot OS X Disk Utility while in 10.x

That is why I have come to depend on Disk Warrior for my repair needs.

But, as I have not been asked to enter my administrator code, I assume
that the machine is not doing this because of any permissions.

Is there any way to extract just one application from the OS 10.2.6
update? I have heard that it is not wise to re-install any OS X
    operating systems.

Really? I've heard that 'archive and install" works fine, and given your
problems (i.e. can't even run Disk Utility), might be necessary.

You cannot be "booted" in both. Try shutting classic down, and then
try again to run the DiskUtility.

    DW does not repair rpermissions.

I don't understand what you are saying, but you do not need to enter
    any password to repair permissions.

Pacifist enables you to select files from OS X disks.
