Here's a problem to make your hair curl

Default Here's a problem to make your hair curl

I have a load of assets in the form of .exe files from my customer, what they want is to be able to press a button in the normal manner and open one of these .exe files - the .exe files are actually Flash movies but I don't have the source files etc.
So far so good, the trouble is that the Flash movies don't have a close button on them so there's no way of shutting them down once opened.

The app is a kiosk so I can't use the Esc key or anything similar.

To make matters more interesting the App has a 'timeout' loop which is to check for user activity & if say 3 minutes has passed it closes the Flash exe.

Ideally I'd want to play the exe 'within' director & have a 'close' button in the Director App as a kind of border to the Flash exe.
Are there any xtras out there which might do something like this?

    Clear as mud?

    Excellent.

    Thanks for your time!

Try the masterApp xtra. It lets you do a lot of controlling of apps,
    windows, registry, etc.

BuddyAPI might also do what you need.

Search the net for a utility tht can extract a .swf from a Flash .exe - I know there are some.

If the .exe was created with a Flash version compatible with your Director version then you should be able to simply import it as usual
