Hide If Empty question
Hi,
Is it possible to apply a "hide if empty" behaviour to code held above the
<head> tag?
My code is:
<%
Select Case rsRecordset.Fields.Item("exitcode")
Case "C"
ExitCode = "Claimed"
Case "H"
ExitCode = "Re-Homed"
End Select
%>
When the Recordset is empty, I am getting an "Exception Occured" error
message.
When I try to add a standard Hide If Empty behaviour, DW is asking me to
select something from the page.
I basically don't want this code to display if the Recordset is empty.
Thanks.
nath.

Checking for Empty Dataset -- Simple Question
Can anyone tell me how to check and see if a dataset is empty? I am writing a search function that returns a dataset and binds it to a datagrid.... -

should do:
<%
IF rsRecordset.Fields.Item("exitcode") THEN
Select Case rsRecordset.Fields.Item("exitcode")
Case "C"
ExitCode = "Claimed"
Case "H"
ExitCode = "Re-Homed"
End Select
END IF
%>
You may have to tinker with the condition in the IF statement.

Re: Hide If Empty question
To check for an empty recordset, use this code (ASP VBScript):
If Not rsRecordset.EOF And Not rsRecordset.EOF Then
' Recordset is NOT empty - your code here
Else
' Recordset IS empty
End If

Re: Hide If Empty question
Thanks people.
Sorted it out myself though. I just dropped my code...
<%
Select Case rsRecordset.Fields.Item("exitcode")
Case "C"
ExitCode = "Claimed"
Case "H"
ExitCode = "Re-Homed"
End Select
%>
....into my page, rather than above the head. I basically just dropped it
into my Hide If Not Empty section.
For some reason, I assumed that I wouldn't be able to do this! D'oh!
