Read the section on editing text in the Help file. If ou are asking this question I would strongly advise downloading the tryout version to see what Acrobat can, and cannot, do.

Also bear in mind that Adobe Acrobat is not a PDF editor - it is primarily a conversion utility.

Thanks for the info, I looked in the forum for a section on editing text and didn't see anything. The help section on Acrobat is also not much help to me. Am I understanding correctly that I cannot modify a PDF with Acrobat, only create and convert to PDF? I appreciate the help..I already have Acrobat installed on my computer. Just trying to figure out if it's possible to make changes to an existing document.....

You can edit, but only with some pain depending on the level of editing. Minor changes can usually be easily made. However, you do not have reflow and such that is expected in a word-processor. The PDF is just not structured for such editing.

Small edits can be done with the text edit tool. For anything more, you should really request the original document and edit there, then recreate the PDF. The creator may also have even locked the PDF so you can not make changes. In such a case, it is even more important to contact the creator.
