How can I convert a document to a PDF using FH?
I am completely new to Freehand - have only opened it once or twice and
never figured out where to go from there.
The other day in Fireworks someone was asking about a way to create pdf
files and someone pointed out that Freehand will export as a PDF.
So with that in mind -- I have several "forms" from a medical office
that I need to put on their website. They are currently in a Word
Document. Can I pull them into FH and then export them out as a pdf?
I have tried to save a word document as an "rtf" file and then open it
in Free Hand and export it as a pdf.
It creates the pdf file but when I open it Adobe 6.0 tells me there "was
a problem reading the document (135) " and then opens as a blank screen.
Is there a way to convert these Word documents into pdf using Freehand
or would I be better off going to one of the Adobe sites and using there
pay per document conversion tool?
Appreciate some help on this.

If you do it more than just this once get a full version of Adobe Acrobat.> Is there a way to convert these Word documents into pdf using Freehand

Then you can export PDF directly from Word.

can cost much more than one Acrobat license. FreeHand pdf export is good for
making files viewed on screen, nothing else.

Re: How can I convert a document to a PDF using FH?
If this is project is something that you will be dealing with for a
while, I'd recommend the purchase of Acrobat. I see Acrobat 4 for
$50.00 at computer shows. Some vendors sell Acrobat 5 for $89.00. IMO,
it's a vital publishing tool, and no graphics studio should be without
it.

Re: How can I convert a document to a PDF using FH?
I see recommendations for using M$ Word and purchasing the full version of Adobe Acrobat. Although I can recommend Acrobat, I offer a budget recommendation. I use OpenOffice 1.1 (which is free open source software), which also includes a PDF export function (available without Acrobat). Of course with every software it has its limitations - try http://www.openoffice.org for free and see if this is is what you need. If not try the solutions offered above.
