How can I export comment-free documents?
This seems like a simple question, but I cannot find the answer.
I frequently mark up the pdf version of documents I have downloaded from the web with comments, highlighting, typing, and so on. Many (most) of these comments and highlighting are not things I want to share with students or colleagues. Obviously I could make a new copy before I make any markups, but that seems wasteful. It would seem easier to do this as needed rather than saving every document I download in a "clean" library as well as in a "comments" library.
Is there some way to save a new version of a pdf using Acrobat that wipes it clean of any and all comments?
I am using an Intel mac and Acrobat 7.0.8.
Thanks!!

You can print to a new PDF being sure not to choose "comments and markups" in the print menu.

Re: How can I export comment-free documents?
If you have Acrobat 7 Professional, choose Advanced > PDF Optimizer.
Go to the Discard Objects panel, and select Discard All Comments and Form Widgets. (Make sure the other panels aren't doing something you don't want, like downsampling images, at the same time.)

graffiti - do NOT print a PDF back through the Adobe PDF printer!! It is a lossy operation and not recommended by Adobe.
Please see <http://www.acrobatusers.com/blogs/leonardr/2006/10/06/why-refrying-a-pdf-is-evil/> for details.

Thanks Steve! That works. Adobe's on-line help remains pretty near useless for most of the tasks I want to do. Good that there are knowledgable people who can take time to respond to such queries.
