How can I rename a project in Xcode? - Mac Programming

This may seem like a dumb question, but. . . How can I change the name of a program? I tried the obvious approach of renaming and editing files, replacing every occurance of the old name with the new one -- but Xcode refuses to build my project, because it's still looking for files with the old names. -- Tony Belding, Hamilton Texas...

This may seem like a dumb question, but. . . How can I change the

This sounds like more than one question. Are you looking to change the
names of files that are part of your project, or of the resulting built
    app?

The resulting built app. . . Actually, the main thing I couldn't
figure out was how to change the name that appears in the title bar
when the program runs. I can easily rename the program app in Finder
of course, but that doesn't change the title bar. I can't seem to
change it in InterfaceBuilder either, since it always appears as
    "NewApplication" there.

You need to open MainMenu.nib in Interface Builder and rename it. It
    isn't titled dynamically.

Well, actually it is. If you launch XCode, create a new project called
"blarg" and then build-n-run, you'll see "blarg" in the menu bar. All
the menu items that read "NewApplication" are static, but the menu name
    is, in fact, dynamic.

Looks like three changes need to be made:

In info.plist, change CFBundleExecutable to the new name.

In InfoPlist.strings, change CFBundleName to the new name.

In XCode, in the info window for your target, in the Build tab, change
Product Name to the new name. (This governs the name of the .app package
    and of the embedded executable.)

OOps! Yah you're right...its been a while since I started a new project
and I could only remember how pesky it was that "NewApplication" stayed
in the menu. I just forgot where it stayed.
