how do I activate Java
I built some flash gallerys in photoshop and I want to do some minor editing on
them, but when I open the SWF file in dreamweaver I can view it in code view
but when i go to design or split view the graphical display just says you must
activate java. So I ask you where is the activate java button.

Re: how do I activate Java
Once you create a published flash file, file.swf, you cannot edit it. That's
the beauty of flash, nobody can steal your code like they can with javascript.
The only changes that can be made to a swf file in DW are the basics like
quality, size, loop, bgcolor...and those changes are made to the surrounding
html and not to the SWF file itself.
I don't know anything about "activating java"....sounds really weird.
ps....photoshp and illustrator do lousy jobs at exporting to SWF. I know, I
beat my head for months before I finally ponied up the bucks for Flash MX.
If you're going to be even remotely serious about flash, you HAVE to get the
program!!! It's well worth it!! Things that take 2 hours in Pshop, take about
10 mins in Flash.
Get a good book on Flash, and study it in your offline time, don't be in a
hurry, Flash is unkind to the hurried novice. But once you do make the
investment you'll gradually migrate everything to flash. Buttons, Menus,
animations...the works. YOu can build an entire site in Flash.
I should have stock in Macromedia.

Sure they can. There are plenty of decompilers out there.> That's
