Default How do I create forms?

    I'm a newbie. I have a MAC OS 10.4.8, Acrobat 7.0 Pro.
I have a form I've designed in Illustrator, I'd like to be able to add text fields to fill out digitally in Acrobat. Then I would print the form out and snail mail, or whatever else.

I notice in Help it mentions "Designer" which is only avilable in Windows. I don't see any other instructions for this, which leads me to believe it is not possible.

Is it possible? How do I do this?

    Thanks

Acrobat Professional also have built-in tools for creating forms. Views->Toolbars->Forms.

I don't know what you mean. There is no "Forms" under View>Toolbars. Also under Help > How to Create Forms, it only mentions Adobe Designer (Windows). So does this mean you can only add electronic text fields in Windows?

Actually, the form tools are located under Tools>Advanced Editing.

Under Tools->Advanced Editing, the second group of tools are the form
tools. You can show the form fields toolbar by clicking the
appropriate menu item. Leonard was probably thinking for Acrobat 8,
the latest and greatest version of Acrobat.

You CAN find them under the "view" menu, but it's called the "Advanced Editing" toolbar.

Yeah. Leo was probably talking 8. :)

Thanks very much. That's probably what I'm looking for, I should be good from here.

Of course having said that I'll probably get stuck again, and I'll come here.

    Thank you very much.

    P Jones;

You may want to check out an excellent book on applying form fields to an existing document using Acrobat: "Creating Adobe Acrobat Forms" by Ted Padova. Here's a link to more info on the book:

    Good luck.
