    One thing though, I'm having a bit of a problem getting a point at the top.
    Even when I crank the bevel height all the way up. What's the trick?
    Is it the line angle, or what?

    It's just a balance between the bevel height and the size of the base object. You need a true square to get a point - if it's a rectangle, you'll get a line. Remember you can chante the height in fractions, to get a precise point.
