Default How do I find out if I am running XP as Administrator?

    Hello:

I have Windows XP Home. Does anyone know how I find out if
I am running XP as "Administrator"?

XP came installed on my new computer and I can't remember
ever seeing that choice when started running XP

    Thanks,

You can only access Administrator in XP Home by booting into Safe Mode,
so it's probably "Safe" (sic) to say that you are not logged in as
    Administrator.

Default How do I find out if I am running XP as Administrator?

You can go to start, setting control Panel and then to
users and computers and when ytou double click on users
and computer it will show the accts. for that PC. If all
you did was the inital setup then you are the computer
    admin.

No, in XP Home you can ONLY log on as Administrator in Safe mode. Unless
the OP is always booting into safe mode, then they are NOT logged on as
Administrator. See my post two hours ago.

Is there a difference between an administrator and *the* Administrator (note
case difference)? I had XP installed by a computer shop, and my account
list my name, and below it it says "computer administrator".

if you have Home, then the "Administrator" log-in is hidden. Your vendor
may have set up an account with administrator rights (can you do this in
Home? I'm not sure) and called it "Computer Administrator". I would be
very surprised if this was "THE" Administrator account, although I
beleive (certainly in Pro) there is a tweak to make the Admin log-on
    appear on the welcome screen.

    Clear as mud, eh?
