How do I make an AVI Video play with Media Player - Macromedia Director Lingo

Hi .. i'm having a problem with playback of my Projector on certain computers because the default video software is RealPlayer.. makes a big red x when goes to video. I would like to force it to use Media Player instead.. I want it to play on stage and not as a stand alone.. so I can't use the open command.. What should I do... Help! Thanks! Jason...

    i dont think there is much you can do..
    if the computers default program for that filetype is set to realplayer

    Actually, the computer's default program for that filetype is not set to realplayer. It's a Window Media Player (AVI) file. It's just that the computer is set to handle all media files through realplayer. I am looking for a way to make the computer use Media Player.

    If anyone knows anything or has had this experience, please help. Thanks.

    It might be easier to use DirectShow (which is what the Windows Media
    Player application uses). The MPEG Advance Xtra from Tabuleiro uses
    DirectShow.

    Otherwise, I suppose you could search the users hard drives for the path to
    wmplayer.exe
