how do I perminently uncheck 'Create PDF Compatable File' in AI CS

In case no one else has noticed, if you uncheck the box for 'Create PDF Compatable File' when doing save or save as the file size drops by a factor of 5. This is extremely useful for people with limmited drive space.

I have 50 macs, with artists of varying capabilities using them. I am going to ask them all to uncheck that box in the future. The problem is that it is checked by defualt and returns as checked the next time you save a new file. Any ideas on how to make it unchecked perminently?

I had the idea of editting the prefs files but i could not find the specific item. I figured it would be something like a subsection of the save dialouge with PDF=1 and I would change it to zero. I did not find anything that was so obviuos and was unwilling to start changing items to 0 without any guidance.
